We need someone with excellent skills in HTML5, CSS3, Javascript and PHP as well as experience with open-source CMS frameworks and development for mobile and social media.

Core duties will involve:

• Developing highly engaging online experiences using the latest web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, Jquery)
• Developing online applications and cms-based sites
• Keeping up with current trends so we can offer our clients the best, most up-to-date solutions
• Creative thinking in the delivery of ultra user-friendly online experiences

ASP.NET experience, native apps development and Flash / online games development would be a bonus but not essential.

This is a pivotal role in a creative team who deliver engaging online projects for a variety of clients spanning many sectors.

We’ve just launched our latest online game for Rizla. Flight Club is our own take on a paper aeroplane game set in a wintery Rizla wonderland.

Players will have to hone their timing skills and use their wind power wisely in order to fly the furthest and keep improving their score.

Following the success of the 2011 advent giveaway, the purpose of this game is to give rollers a fun and engaging reason to come back to the site and to challenge their followers to beat their score

We’re very excited to announce our newest client – York St John University. We will be supporting the 2012 marketing campaign with an online game to engage their audience and help convert applicants into students.

It’s the first time we’ve worked with York St John which also happens to be our first high profile York-based client – so it’s a fantastic start to the year for Plump!

The Rizla Advent Giveaway was a resounding success attracting more than 20 times the amount of web traffic we’d usually expect to see in an average month. We reached 20,000 twitter timelines within 12 hours of go-live and in a single month increased Rizla’s subscriber database by 75%.

In amongst this, we also managed to

• Launch 3 websites for a global leader in the manufacture of animal nutrition additives: Anpario, Optivite & Kiotechagil.
• Develop a flash-based Christmas card for a prominent Manchester design agency
• Pick up a brief to develop a series of mobile apps for a high-profile Northern Utilities company
• Convince York St John University that we are the right web design studio to support their 2012 marketing activities

All in all we had a, great finish to a successful year which has lead on to a very promising start to 2012

We’ve just launched Christmas buzzwords – a Christmas re-hash of a game we did back in October. This time you have to reveal a series of snow-topped scenes and correctly guess the famous Christmas songs they relate to.

This flash-based game is the latest feature of the Rizla Advent giveaway which launched at the beginning of the month to get Rizla’s audience coming back to the site in the run-up to Christmas.

We launched the Rizla Advent Calendar a few days ago and the campaign is gathering momentum nicely. It’s an online prize giveaway promising Rizla Rollers a daily opportunity to win from hundreds of great prizes during advent.

Once again we teamed up with Original Online and Thirdrock to deliver our own take on an advent calendar competition to keep Rizla’s audience coming back and to re-engage their inactive audience-base.

Registered users are given their own unique code to check in with each day and instantly find out if they’ve won one of the hundreds of prizes. Those who check in every day for a week are entered into the Saturday draws to win a years supply of their favourite papers and we’ve even developed a smartphone version so rollers can check-in on the move.

Following the success of the music player we built into the Rizla home page, we developed a standalone player so Rollers can enjoy the exclusive tracks and image galleries from the comfort of their own desktop.

By using Adobe’s Air application we were able to take a good chunk of the Flash code base we developed for the website and generate a cross-platform app for use on both Mac and PC.

Rollers can download the desktop app from the Rizla website giving them free unbridled access to years of exclusive festival tunes and image galleries.

It seems the ‘Rizla Rollers’ love anything with the Rizla logo on it – only last month they ran a competition giving away 300 Rizla branded tents that went down a storm! So this time we were asked to come up with some ideas for an engaging competition entry mechanism that would give the user a real sense of what the competition is all about.

We’re all about coming up with fun ideas that really engage our clients audience and keep them interacting with their brand time and again.

Having had two successful years in our Leeds office, we have relocated to York with our sights set on growth as we enter our 4th year of trading.

So whilst keeping up with a busy work schedule we’ve been getting settled into our new office on St Saviougate in York’s city centre – a stone’s throw from the Minster, the shambles and an odd bunch who walk the streets dressed up as Vikings.

York has such a diverse range of businesses, from bars and hotels to rail operators and universities, and a real sense of business community. There is an amazing buzz here, with a lot of innovation and creativity and we’re really looking forward to being a part of it.

Our Friends at Thompson Brand Partners took the lead on the ideas and creative and brought us in to deliver our animated interpretation of their carefully crafted storyboard.

The result is a punchy, engaging animation that introduces the Health Foundations core areas of work and then allows the user to click around and explore deeper into the website.
